The Home Depot's Kids Workshops offer useful projects including the creation of toolboxes, fire trucks and mail organizers, as well as more educational projects, such as a window birdhouse, bughouse or Declaration of Independence frame kit.
The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children.
In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates' aprons, and an achievement pin.

Please dispose of your trash in the trash receptacles provided; if litter continues to be left on the ground around the skate park, the Parks & Recreation Dept. will close the park to the public.

Sunday, January 17 - Martin Luther King Festival
To celebrate the national MLK day holiday on Mon. Jan. 17th, the Heritage Council is sponsoring the Community March. The purpose of this 17th annual Community March is to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy while uplifting diversity and multi-culturalism in our city. The MLK Community March kicks off at 9 a.m. with a short program at the MLK Statue on the University of Texas campus. We will then march to the historic Huston-Tillotson University, where exciting activities are planned.

Saturday, February 5 - Home Depot Kids Workshop
The Home Depot's Kids Workshops offer useful projects including the creation of toolboxes, fire trucks and mail organizers, as well as more educational projects, such as a window birdhouse, bughouse or Declaration of Independence frame kit.
The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children.
In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates' aprons, and an achievement pin.

Saturday, February 5 - Daddy Daughter Dance
The Daddy Daughter Dance at the Clay Madsen Recreation Center is a perfect time to create a special and memorable experience with your daughter! Dress up, take pictures and dance the night away! Enjoy dancing to all types of music, a dance contest, refreshments, activities and professional photography onsite. There will be 2 identical dances for 2 age groups on Saturday, February 5, 2011.
