Movie Night

Dear friends of MOPS,

Plan a movie night for Friday, April 16th! Tune in as a family with older children or put the younger ones to bed and have a movie date at home. MOPS International is pleased to share great family entertainment with you. If you’ve been waiting for great family programming to return to your television, control is now in your hands. Vote with your remote! When you support this type of entertainment now, you help ensure there will be appropriate family entertainment available for years to come.

On Friday, April 16th, NBC will air a two-hour action/adventure movie called Secrets of the Mountain. It’s about a single mom who takes her family to visit a mountain cabin she inherited from an eccentric uncle. But when they arrive, they learn that the mountain is more than it seems. As the story unfolds, the characters display positive traits such as honesty, and perseverance – things that moms are trying to pass on to their children.

An ancient secret and a treacherous quest will test the family like never before. It’s an edge-of-your-seat thriller that will remind you that when times are tough, families don’t run away from their problems. They run back to each other.

But to ensure that this is more than a “one-and-done” movie event, we need your help! Let’s show networks and Secrets of the Mountain’s corporate sponsors (Wal-Mart and Procter & Gamble) that family-friendly entertainment is wanted and appreciated. More movies and TV shows like this are in development – we simply need to show that we’re an eagerly waiting audience!

MOPS is joining with other organizations to spread the word so that 10 million families will tune in to NBC for Secrets of the Mountain on Friday April 16th at 8/7C.

GCN MOPS: Living Together with God

Hi Ladies,

I just wanted to send a quick email to remind you about our meeting this Friday. Our topic will be "Living Together with God." We will also be doing a craft, so make sure you let Becky know which one you would like to do, the headbands or flower pot/pens. She needs to know by today, like I mentioned in my last email, so she can get all of the supplies in time for our meeting. We only have one meeting left after this one, so we hope to see everyone on Friday.

Hope you are having a great week!

Wendy

Hashbrown Casserole

HASHBROWN CASSEROLE

2 lbs. frozen hashbrowns (cubed), thawed
1 stick melted butter
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 can cream of mushroom soup (subbed for cream of chicken)
1 pint sour cream (you know - you could probably sub this for a pint of that plain thick greek yogurt, like Fage)
2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
2 small boxes of crushed corn flakes

Mix all ingredients (except butter and crushed corn flakes) in a greased casserole dish (9x13). Mix crushed corn flakes with melted butter. Pour over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
