Reminder For Friday's Meeting

Hi Ladies,

I hope you all are having a great week! Just a quick reminder of our meeting this Friday. We talked last time about how to navigate the good kind of relationships (romantic), now it's time we take a look at the other side of the relationship spectrum, Unsafe Relationships. We will enjoy group discussion and then Becky has a fun craft planned for us (all supplies provided).

Speaking of crafts, since several of you were unable to attend the January 22 meeting, we are still trying to finish up the Card Kits for KidsLink Downrange. We need several more cards to meet our obligation of 23 kits. We are looking for School Days, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Birthday, and 4th of July cards. If you feel like making some and bringing them to Friday's meeting, or if you have some extra cards laying around and would like to donate them, that would be awesome! We are also looking for donations of stamps (sheets, not books, as there needs to be 8 stamps per kit).

Also, Friday is the last day of our pajama drive for pajamaprogram.org. Please bring new pajamas and books to donate to this wonderful program.

Love Is In The Air........

Hi Ladies,

What better time for a talk on romance than just before Valentine's Day? Our guest speaker on Friday will be Carol Dodds and she will be speaking about...you guessed it...romance! Are you intrigued, yet? You should be!

Speaking of Valentine's Day...we will be having a babysitting fundraiser on Saturday, February 13th at GCN from 4:30 to 9pm. Cost is $10 per child, $20 family max. Space is limited and we are looking for volunteers to help watch the kiddos. If you are receiving a scholarship to attend MOPS, this would be a great opportunity for you to volunteer as the money raised will be going toward our scholarship fund. Please contact Karen Day if you are interested in either volunteering or dropping your kids off for the evening.

Also, Friday is National Wear Red Day. Stand up and speak out against heart disease in women by wearing red on Friday, February 5th.

Pajama Party

Hey Ladies,

I hope you are all having a great week! Our next meeting is this Friday and it's all about Loving and Giving in Service! A representative from the pajamaprogram.org will be here to help us kick off our pajama drive and our craft will be making card kits for KidsLink Downrange. KidsLink Downrange is a project where MOPS groups all around the USA help military kids connect to their deployed parents by creating Card Kits the kids can use to keep in touch with their mom or dad.

We have a lot to do to get the card kits made so we have to start on time at 9:30. So, don't worry about getting dressed...everyone come IN YOUR PAJAMAS (kids, too) and drop the kids off in MOPPETS at 9:15.

What you need to bring:

1) Yourself and your kids dressed in pajamas.

2) Any extra cards you have lying around and scrapbooking supplies (if you have any) to help make additional cards.

3) Our MOPPETS are running low on snacks, we ask that each of you contribute a large package of one snack item for sharing amongst the children. Suggested snack items include graham crackers, goldfish, Ritz bits, or animal crackers. Please do not donate items that may include peanuts as they can trigger allergic reactions.

4) Your checkbooks: if you did not pay for the entire year, dues are now due for the spring semester. Without these funds, we cannot continue our meetings. If you need a scholarship, please fill out a scholarship request at GCNMOPS.org.

Jan Mom's Night Out

Hi Ladies,

As Wendy announced at our last meeting, we are planning this month's Mom's Night Out for Monday, Jan. 25th. We are planning on having dinner together at a restaurant where we can all relax and chat for a while. If you will be attending this month's dinner, please RSVP to Karen Day by Friday, so I know how many are coming and can make a reservation or ensure the restaurant can hold the size of our group.

Also, I have gotten word that Jungle Java in Round Rock is discounting their entrance fees on Thurs for the month of Jan to $3! Let's get the kiddos together for some fun and burn some energy on Thurs, Jan. 28th.

Friday's Meeting

Hi Ladies,

Can you believe that Christmas is almost here? Where did 2009 go?

I just wanted to remind you of our final meeting of the year, this Friday. Remember to bring a wrapped ornament to exchange (Hobby Lobby still has some good ones left for 50% off). We always have a lot of fun with the exchange, just ask Vicki :-)

We would also ask that you bring three signed Christmas cards for the MOPPETS teachers to thank them for all they do for us. We want to make sure that each teacher is acknowledged.

Santa Fundraiser Success

Thanks to everyone that participated in our Santa fundraiser. It was a success for our group and we are already planning to do it again next year. We got lots of good photos and the smiles of happy kiddos was priceless. Thanks again!!!
